Last night I had a wonderful opportunity to collaborate with two very esteemed local professionals, Lilu Jael and Denise Hutter. Both were so wonderful to work with. And Lilu is so down to earth & fun. I’d love to work with either or both of them again.

find me on Facebook

Posted in Photography at 9:59 am by Magnus

If you’re on Facebook and  a fan of my photography work, I’d appreciate if you could take a moment and check out my Magnus Hedemark fan page on Facebook and consider joining it. I post some other photos there that you won’t find here, and announce public appearances for things like upcoming art shows and gallery exhibits there.

Facebook and its double secret probation

So I got this super ambiguous email from Facebook telling me I was screwing up but not telling me exactly how I was screwing up.

Hi,

email serves as a warning. Misuse of Facebook's features or violating Facebook's
terms of use may result in your account being disabled. Thanks in advance for your
understanding and cooperation.

The Facebook Team

When I tried to reply to a wall post a few minutes later, a rude window popped up pretty much telling me to STFU and chill.

You are blocked from making wall posts due to continued overuse of this feature
Your failure to comply with an earlier warning has resulted in this block.

Please note that this block is temporary and can last anywhere from a few hours to a few days. Facebook cannot lift this block for any reason. Please be patient and refrain from using this feature for a few days.

Continued misuse of Facebook’s features may result in your account being permanently disabled.

Which of the following links describes what you were trying to do? Clicking on a link will take you to more information on how to use Facebook’s features.

Using Applications
Planning an Event
Sharing your Facebook Group/Event link
Promoting a business, product or service
Chatting with friends

Wow. Once again note the ambiguity. How much is too much? When exactly may I return? And why wasn’t I adequately warned of what exactly I was doing wrong before I was blocked?

I may only return long enough to say goodbye to my friends and invite them to join me at another site.

My Economic Stimulus Plan

Posted in Photography at 2:32 pm by Magnus

This is so simple that even a Congressman can understand it, but would probably vote on it without reading it anyway just as a matter of principle.

I drop my art prices to ramen noodle territory, you buy it and hang it on your wall, I eat ramen and feel strong enough to make more art. How could this be wrong?

Anyway, for an undetermined yet shortish amount of time I’ve dropped prices on my prints to an insanely thin margin. I just want to get some of my work out there. My first art show is coming up soon, though, and I expect prices to go back up when that happens.

Abstracts

I’ve been trying out something new (to me) and find it to be quite enjoyable. Nude abstracts celebrate the subtleties of the nude form just as traditional fine art nudes celebrate the whole of the nude form. Have you ever really stopped and noticed “oh that bit right there has a lovely curve to it”? So this session was more of a celebration of those subtle parts that made the model as a whole beautiful.

defiling a 1957 Buick

I had a lot of fun with the crew out a Rod-O-Rama in Raleigh on Saturday working with the lovely Cori Lee again. This time she looked right at home on the bench seat of a classic Buick. As always, she was wonderful to work with and we got some really gorgeous images.
